I am originally from Michigan and went to Michigan State University. I now lived in Old Town, Chicago – a great neighborhood that is central to the city and a close commute to our Chicago office. GER
When did you join Proxima, and what was exciting about the opportunity? GER
I joined Proxima in July 2025. I was very excited to get the opportunity to work alongside inspiring, driven individuals who are passionate about what they do. Being a part of a team that’s both hardworking and genuinely welcoming has made the experience incredibly rewarding from day one. GER
What is your role as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist? GER
As the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, I do full-cycle recruiting for a variety of consulting roles. I collaborate closely with stakeholders to align hiring goals, build strong pipelines, and identify talent that reflects Proxima’s values. I also help drive U.S. graduate recruiting, bringing in top early-career talent. GER
What does a typical day look like? GER
Each day in recruiting brings variety. I connect with candidates throughout the interview process, from initial screen to offer stage. I meet regularly with stakeholders and internal teams to stay aligned on hiring needs and strategy. I also manage university partnerships, host virtual info sessions, and attend U.S. career fairs during peak seasons. GER
What are the most common questions you get from applicants? GER
A common question I get from applicants is, “What’s the collaborative environment like at Proxima?” I share that collaboration is truly embedded in how we work. In our Chicago office specifically, many new joiners mention they are pleasantly surprised by the strong sense of partnership and openness from day one. Whether it’s bouncing ideas around, sharing feedback, or celebrating wins together, the collaborative spirit is something that genuinely sets Proxima apart. GER
What do you like most about your job? GER
It’s incredibly fulfilling to connect candidates with opportunities that shape their careers. Being a part of someone’s professional journey and connecting people to opportunities at Proxima that they are truly excited about is what makes this work so meaningful. GER
What are you most proud of about working at Proxima? GER
I’m most proud of the culture here at Proxima. It’s very collaborative, encourages professional growth, and is driven by purpose. This kind of environment allows me to speak authentically about our firm and values when engaging with candidates. GER
What do you like to do when you aren’t working? GER
Outside of work, I love exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods – checking out new restaurants and coffee shops, spending time along the lakefront, and going to the farmers‘ markets. You’ll often find me at a workout class or happy hour with friends. I also like to make time to visit family in northern Michigan; it’s a great way to slow down and recharge from the city. GER
